Thailand;a newcomer in Mobile App Industry

You might have asked yourself where mobile app developers come from. The answer might be shocking to you that Asia has the most mobile app developers in the world among all the continents. With 32.9 percent of the total app developers in the world, Asia is the forerunner in Mobile app development industry. There are around 700,000 mobile app developers in Asia mostly located in Japan, South Korea and China. 

Recently, it looks there is a new country entering the market. App developer companies and individuals in Thailand are recently more active in this field. We couldn’t deny some of the apps developed by Thai developers are really good. So, we decided to have a short conversation with the CEO of one of app-development companies in Thailand and get more information about app-development in this country.

Yesterday, we had an interview with the head of  ‘Trafalgar Soft’ an initial app development company in Thailand. We discussed with Mr. Warayuth Song-sung-thong about the app development in Thailand and role of this country in the international app market.

Hi. Can you introduce yourself to our audience?

Hi. I am Warayuth Song-sung-thong from Thailand. You can call me Wayne. I am CEO and gameplay designer of a new company named Trafalgar Soft Company. 

Thank you Wayne for such a nice introduction. Before we go to our main questions, I want to ask you how’s your day?

Yeah I am fine, Thank you.

Good to hear that. You mentioned that you are an initial company in the field of app development. What brought you to this field?

Warayuth Song-sung-thong Trafalgar Soft

I was always into games. And I think it was a good time for us to go to the game business starting with mobile games first. I think loving your job is the most important thing in every business and it directs you to success. Anyway, we are just new but we are doing our best to make high quality games; the games that help players experience something new.

Great. I have a question now in my mind that might be the question of many people active in App market. I’m interested to know what might make an app developed by Thai developers different from the other apps.

I think if you want to be a forerunner in the app market, you have to bring new ideas. And that’s what we are working on it. Players are waiting for new things. Their taste changes every year. So it is important to consider all these things. Thai app developers might be new in this field but they are so talented and I’m sure you will hear from them more and more in the near future.

It looks great. We also hope to hear more about apps developed by Thai developers. Wayne Let us know a little bit about the apps that have been released by your company.

For now we have one app that is already released. The name is “Knight Withstand”.Please check it out. Our next coming apps are ‘Fuzzy Farm’ and ’Alfa Fly: Mythos Quest’.

Fuzzy Farm is a simple matching game that challenges your concentration ability. It’s a good for all ages. Since the game theme is Farm, So even a kid can enjoy playing it.

How do you rate your own apps?

They are all good apps, but there is still room for improvement. We are doing our best to always be better than the day before. Many new apps are coming. You will hear more about us in the future.

We are all aware some Asian countries such as Japan or China are forerunners in app development in Asia and even in the world. How do you see the position of Thailand in app development in the future?

To be frank, Thailand is just new in the market. There are lots of Indie developers here that produce amazing apps but because of not having a good marketing their apps are not that much known as they deserve. We are not thinking that much about competing with other countries.  If we just make a good game that let players enjoy and experience something new, we consider it as a success. We don’t think of the financial part that much.
